Sailing in the Saint Louis Area

Movin' back to Carlyle Lake!
The Hot Ruddered Bum has been moved back to her original lake that she was first sailed on almost 30 years ago.

With the kids getting bigger and ready to assume the positions of swabbies on the boat, the decision was made to get off the river and back onto the lake where they could swim and have more open area to play around.

The boat was pulled from the river and trucked to Boulder Marina. Unfortunately she was sitting too high on the trailer making Boulder's lift unable to launch her. The boat was trucked over to Tradewinds Marina across the lake (and my old marina about three years ago) and launched from there. Luckily it was a decent, warm November day making the trip across the water enjoyable.

Boulder's harbor master and all around good guy, Schmidty, was a huge help and made our family feel very welcome to our new summer spot in the sun.

A very special thanks to all the good folks of Boulder Marina!

        Catalina 30

The "Hot Ruddered Bum" is a 1980 30' Catalina sailboat. She is 29'-11" OAL, 25' LWL, and has a 10'-10" beam. She is nearly 11,000 pounds and sails like a witch.

We are looking forward to a fun 2010 sailing season at Boulder Marina.

Scott aka. The Sioux Pirate (Still keeping the handle)
